Pinwheels Quilt Block Exchange: Scrappy Log Cabin Swap

Hello Quilters!

We’re thrilled to announce our very first quilt block exchange at Pinwheels! Many of you have asked, “What can I make with my Japanese Taupe fabrics?” Well, here’s your chance to showcase your creativity and join in on the fun!

As I travel around the country sharing my Taupe Talk, one quilt that consistently captivates audiences is my Log Cabin quilt. It’s a classic design that never goes out of style! When people ask for the pattern, I often say, “It’s just a log cabin.” This got me thinking—why not host a scrappy log cabin swap?

Here Are the Details:

• Swap Duration: The swap begins immediately and will run until September 1, 2025.
• Block Requirements: Each participant will create sixteen blocks (or more, if you’re feeling inspired!) and send them to Pinwheels.
• Fabric Options: You can choose to participate in one of two ways:
  • Japanese Taupe Fabric: Send in your beautiful taupe fabrics, and you’ll receive taupe fabrics back.
  • Good Quality Non-Taupe Quilting Cottons: Prefer a different look? Send in high-quality non-taupe quilting cottons, and you’ll receive those back.
  • Do Both: Feel free to participate in both options! You will receive whatever you send.
• Block Return: After the blocks are shuffled with those from other participants, they will be returned to you by October 1, 2025.
• Quality Control: Please ensure that your blocks meet all the specified requirements. Any blocks that do not meet the criteria will be returned to you.
